Name: Miranda Kelly
Birthday: 1/24/1983
Gender: Female

Interests: I love to dance, spontaneous parking lot dance parties are my favorite. I also love reading, making things pretty, painting, drawing, etc. I like to cook (especially in a wok) and to play outside. I'm into folksy accoustic music, bluegrass, oldtime and all that (you know, fiddles and banjos). Oh! I love to travel far and wide! I like children's books, country roads, open markets, yard sales and musicals.
Expertise: I can't say I'm an expert at much of anything, though I am a Fine Art major, so most of my education involves paint, color, composition and the like. I was raise by wild animals (just kidding), but my upbringing by some very special and unique parents (Randy and Deborah Jean) has given me a fair knowledge of old time music, politics, carpentry and organic farming. I've been teaching small group bible study for awhile, not that it makes me an expert, but it is something I've been doing.

I do exist.

Here's a poem I like...Lately I've been thinking about winter, waiting and longing, this poem is a lovely expression of those thoughts (Berry says it better than me)

The Cold---Wendell Berry

How exactly good it is
To know myself
In the solitude of winter,

My body containing its own
warmth, divided from all
by the cold; and to go

Separate and sure
among the trees cleanly
divided, thinking of you

Perfect too in your solitude,
Your life withdrawn into
Your own keeping

-To be clear, poised
In perfect self-suspension
toward you, as though frozen.

And having known fully the
goodness of that, it will be
good also to melt.

I just got home from teaching Missions in VBS at my church.  When I told the kids that I had been in the Philippines last summer, one kid asked, "Is that where the Philistines are?"

There's a picture of me hiking in Grayson Highlands State Park (VA).  Yes, that is a wild pony.  Later it chased me to get at the delicious snacks in my backpack.  I heart horsies.

I miss you.  I promise.  Whoever you are.  Except for...well, you know who you are.

You know the fabulous rummage sale that usually happens around the same time as the Sheets family Barn Dance?  Well, this year the date has been changed to Fri and Sat June 17 and 18.  Sorry guys if you were planning on barn dancing and rummaging in the same weekend. If you've never been, this particular rummage sale is serious.  It's a huge event to raise money for the humane society.  I'm not scheduled to work that saturday, so i'm going to go.  If anyone wants to come for a visit that weekend you would be welcome.  Other than that, the barn dance will still be in August to accomidate the schedule of friends out of the country or state.
